We recommend spraying them with a protective spray before they are used. The right product will add an invisible protective layer to the material. Regular conditioning of the leather is highly recommended along with a weekly dry cloth wipe down of the oak and leather. Avoid new denim and overdyed clothes coming into contact with the pale leather.
One of the beautiful things about real wood is that each piece is slightly unique. Real wood has genuine variation in tone and shade that isn’t achievable with veneers. Our American Walnut has rich, warm tones. It will match closest with other American Walnut pieces but it will work well with other warm toned timbers. You can request a timber sample to aid your choice.
