We don't work with corporate brands or distributors, so we can deliver beautifully designed pieces made from Solid American Wood, not veneer, without the mark up.

Our Wood
We use solid wood because it's hardy and it lasts. Unlike veneered furniture, there's less damage from wear and tear so you don't have to throw it out to replace it with something equally replaceable.
We only use real wood sourced from American forests embodying sustainable principles. This means it is sustainably harvested, restores the ecosystem, has replanting processes which are consistent environmental monitoring and the land rights of indigenous peoples.
Solid wood furniture is a provider of carbon storage and has a positive effect on the planet by not releasing this carbon. Regrowth in sustainably managed forests adds to carbon emission reduction by further increasing carbon storage.
At IconByDesign we do the best for our planet by making pieces that last. Where our competitors have chosen synthetic, engineered materials to save costs, we use solid wood for quality and sustainability reasons. We reject the trend to flat-pack, cheap, disposable veneer furniture.
Our Heritage of Furniture
IconByDesign was founded by a father and son, David and Adam Light. Five generations of the Light family have worked with furniture, starting with David's great grandfather. We continue the proud tradition of valuing the authenticity of materials to craft quality furniture.
Our Symbol
We have a powerful symbol that guides us.
To the Nordic people, the Web of Wyrd represented the connection of the fates.
We’ve adopted this symbol as a reminder to us of the importance of the past, present and future, to ensure we make lasting, thoughtful change.
